I spent a few days in Chennai on my recent trip to India, and really enjoyed staying in the Triplicane district. Not wanting to do much touristy stuff, I was quite happy getting some work done in my hotel, and then take little wanders about the nearby streets during the mornings or evenings to get some good pictures of the Triplicane locals….

I had my first attempt at handmade Italian pasta with expert instruction for making my own Tortellone (big tortelli) and Tortellini (little tortelli) from sfoligna Luisa…. A ‘sfoglina’ is to pasta what a master baker is to bread, so I learnt the basics from her quickly.
A busy week in Berlin…. There was a buzz around the city for ITB. Tens of thousands of travel industry types were in town for the super sized trade show. Accommodation had been soaked up, no room left at the inns. The week started out bright. The sun fought the chill and it felt like winter might be abating. Not so much.
