A Journey Through Maharashtra On The Deccan Odyssey Luxury Train

India, India, India. It can be intimidating, but it can also be so inviting. Here is an example of the friendly India I love and will go back to time and again… my latest video showing a week-long tour through Maharashtra, aboard the Deccan Odyssey luxury train. Named after the Deccan Plain that it crosses, the tour starts in Mumbai, takes in World Heritage sites like Ajanta ¬†and Ellora (which are right up there with – and probably a darn sight better than – the Taj Mahal and others) as well as visiting Goa and a host of other items.…

Fish-eyed Views of London from a West End apartment

Last November I popped down to London from the North, to attend WTM 2013 at the ExCeL. With lots of work to do before and during the trade show, and evening events filling up the rest of the time, I was in no mood for a shared dorm in a hostel. I teamed up with a few friends and bloggers to share a City Marque apartment in central London and managed to capture a few London landscape photos with my new fish-eye lens.…

In November I was invited to visit the luxury hotel ‘Constance Le Prince Maurice‘ in Mauritius, to make a video for them. I was only there for 4 days and change, but when you see the pictures below and my video, you’ll know why it was worth the journey.…

Keeping it short and sweet today – New Year, new style. More often, less is more, more or less. Just wanted to show you how incredible technology can be as a traveller, or for anyone who is perma-curious. Look at this little exchange of information and niceties between myself, Serena Puosi (currently in Italy I think? To be confirmed…) and Jodi SchmEttenberg*, who is mid-flight somewhere between Canada and Vietnam!…

Going Home To A Sligo That I Didn’t Know Existed

Today I’m posting some very brief highlights of a great road trip along the Wild Atlantic Way in the North West of Ireland, and Sligo specifically. My mum is going to love this post. Steady, Mum. Some observers’ highlights of the trip (which was part of TBEX Dublin) have already reached the papers and radio stations here, and I have such fantastic recordings to reveal over the coming days, but first here’s a touch of the magic I felt so far, and the reasons why… Some background for you: Half of my family is Irish, and most of the generation above me (on my mothers side) either grew up in Sligo or spent a lot of time there, in the place that my grandparents lived for the last few decades.…
