Fish-eyed Views of London from a West End apartment

Posted on January 23rd, by Peter Parkorr in Britain, London, Roaming Resources. 7 comments
Last November I popped down to London from the North, to attend WTM 2013 at the ExCeL. With lots of work to do before and during the trade show, and evening events filling up the rest of the time, I was in no mood for a shared dorm in a hostel. I teamed up with a few friends and bloggers to share a City Marque apartment in central London and managed to capture a few London landscape photos with my new fish-eye lens.…

Faces of Blogville – Portraits from Bologna, Emilia Romagna

Posted on January 14th, by Peter Parkorr in Italy, Picture Perfect. 8 comments
I met lots of friendly faces on my visit to Bologna for Blogville last summer. It’s one of the highlights of travel. To learn about other cultures, hear what people have to say, and to connect over shared interests – often the travel itself. (And food – let’s not forget the food.) During an action-packed week in Emilia Romagna, I managed to snap a few photo’s of the folks I met and spent time with, including Italian people and fellow bloggers.…

Earlier this week, I nominated some of my favourite blog posts of 2013 for a HostelWorld Best Travel Story Award. Not quite big-headed enough to choose only from an assortment of my own posts, I think I broke some unspoken rule by actually nominating other people. Read on for the dazzling content I trawled my memory banks for. They will all be appearing again soon on my new ‘Recommended’ page, along with many other things.…

Talking Travel Photography Live on Google Plus

Recently, a few travel bloggers and I made a Youtube video full of great travel photography tips for beginners. Using Google Plus, we recorded a live streaming ‘Hangout On Air’ on the subject of travel photography; what camera to buy, what camera equipment is best for backpacking, and how to take the best photos in different situations. One of the first travel photos I took with a DSLR – Dusk over the Mediterranean from my hostel in Gozo, Malta In this episode of Room For Travel, your hosts are Alexander Koval from Out-n-About.de, Ash Clark from TheMostAlive.com, Flavio Alagia from NonSoloTuristi.it, and myself  – Peter Parkorr, from Travel Unmasked.…
