Photo Friday: Guimaraes Castle in Braga, Northern Portugal

Happy Photo Friday! Today’s picture of the week is Guimaraes Castle in Braga, a region of Northern Portugal.

This bold imposing structure is open to the public, and the high walkway around the castle walls is true to it’s original design. There are no handrails to protect you from dropping into the central courtyard – but it does have great views across to the Palace of the Dukes of Braganza.
