Have you ever been to a Scottish celebration of Hogmanay? They really know how to mark an occasion up there. It’s a great way to welcome in the New Year, and here’s my first video from this year’s events to show you why. Five Scottish pipe bands and 26 Up Helly Aa Vikings from the Shetlands lead over 35,000 people and 7,000 torches through the streets of Edinburgh up to Calton Hill in the Hogmanay Torchlight Procession 2012.…

3… 2… 1…. ‘Happy Hogmanay, Happy Hogmanay!’ – The cheers went up, the smiles grew wide, and the thousands of people gathered in Edinburgh all tried to hug each other at once. We sang Auld Lang Syne with enthusiasm, after being dazzled by hundreds of stunning fireworks that blasted the black sky into colour.
