In this post I’m reviewing a new app from Booking.com that is designed to help you book accommodation at the last-minute – because when I’m travelling, that’s exactly what I like to do. Depending how you like to travel, you’ll either love or hate the idea behind this… This app is designed purely for the spontaneous traveller – anyone who might need a room for today or tomorrow night at the drop of a hat!…

15 Things To Expect From An Alberta Road Trip In Summer

Have you ever thought of visiting Canada and had no idea what to see? How about what to expect on a road trip in Alberta? No clue? That’s exactly the place I was in just a couple of weeks ago.  If you had said Toronto, Montreal or even Ottawa I would have some idea of what to expect, but Alberta? A Blog Day Afternoon in Kingston Upon Thames

I’ve put a few photos of Catania together to try to explain why. There’s more to Catania than meets the eye. Catania has a pretty city centre, popular with shoppers, there are some impressive churches and facades, although you don’t have to stray far to find more run down areas.…

Photos of Carnevale Celebrations in Acireale, Sicily

Acireale is a small but pretty town in Sicily, not too far up the coast from Catania, the nearest big city. This town is known mainly for two things; the legend of the Cyclops, and for having one of the best Carnevale celebrations. I’m sharing some Acireale Carnevale photos today and talking a little about life in Sicily too. A view along the coast at Aci Castello near the Norman Castle The legend of the cyclops is actually based in nearby Aci Trezza, where prominent basalt rocks jut out of the sea near the coast.…
